Manufacturing of special effects using printing technologies

Nowadays, the Refinement -Finishing of a printed product gets more and more important A special effect can make a printed product more attractive like an “eye-catcher”. Special Effects are also well known to be applied for security-printing-technology, such as bank notes, identification cards, documents.

There are a lot of refinement technologies, e.g. hot foil stamping, cold foil transfer, varnishing (drip-off, perfume-effect, …). Every technology has it's own character and requires a different machinery configuration.

This research aims to investigate new refinement technologies without high costs of machinery modification.
