Heidelberger Druckmaschinen

Project “Heidelberger Druckmaschinen”

In the context of a longtime cooperation project with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG different partial projects are processed. These projects are advanced development projects which serve the evaluation of new printing techniques and their applications for sheet fed, label printing (sheet and roll) and digital printing (sheet and roll). One priority lies on processes and applications for inline-finishing of printed products in respect of decorative and haptic elements. Another priority is Smart Packaging not only in an electric functional way, but also with new graphical approaches respectively approaches from coating and painting technology (Smart Coating). Among others the industrial printing press GALLUS RCS 330-HD serves as development platform with high modularity regarding different printing techniques (flexography, offset lithography, screen printing, gravure printing, inkjet) and different methods for drying and curing (UV, IR, hot air). A distinct process knowledge in combination printing and process monitoring (i.e. optical) are important aspects in this regard.
