Research

The research focus lies on function integrated manufacturing of regular structures via additive methods.

Despite the long history and current strong growth rates in the field of additive manufacturing, the processes involved are not properly investigated. The relevance is of significant importance for functional components. Here, defined stiffness and surface properties are desirable. Thus, current research concentrates on process limits and windows of Fused Deposition Modeling of plastic parts. It allows the production of structures in the range of 100µm with a wide variety of materials, creating new product ideas.
