Hybrid Production of Seals

Within the framework of the R&D project HyFeDi (Hybrid Production of Seals), IDD and Kudernak GmbH from Rödermark, Germany, are developing an innovative production process for seals as part of ZIM funding. ZIM is the “Zentrales Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand“ which means “Central Innovation Program for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)”.

The innovative manufacturing process is intended to combine the strengths of additive and subtractive manufacturing in a hybrid production process. The new process enables material savings of up to 90 % in seal production and a reduction of the total production time from several weeks to a few days. Kudernak and the IDD are thus taking important steps towards sustainable and economical production in the future.
