Competition year of the TUcanSense 2025 team completed
Subheading: Students would like to thank all supporters and sponsors
2025/09/16
As part of the international student competition SensUs, the TUcanSense 2025 team continued its work from the last competition year 2024 on the development of a biosensor that enables the continuous detection of creatinine in kidney failure. The team developed the electrochemical biosensor, whose detection unit consists of aptamers, over a period of nine months, demonstrating exceptional team spirit and cohesion. This was reflected at the final event, the SensUs Innovation Days at TU Eindhoven, through active participation in small and large challenges and lively interaction with other attendees.
The team would like to thank all supporters and sponsors. Over the course of the competition year, they provided support in the form of specialist knowledge, laboratory space, teamwear and exchange opportunities. Supporters of the students from TU Darmstadt were Prof. Harald Kolmar and Prof. Katja Schmitz from the Department of Chemistry, Prof. Heinz Köppl, Prof. Thomas Burg and Prof. Hoog Antink from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Beatrix Süß from the Department of Biology and Prof. Andreas Blaeser and Prof. Edgar Dörsam from the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Sponsors of this year's TUcanSense team were the Center for Synthetic Biology and iocto GmbH. Special thanks go to iocto GmbH for their visit on August 21 (Thursday) to personally present the team with this year's teamwear and to see their work up close. Many thanks for the support!
