2025/10/13 by

From September 14 to 17, the team from the Biomedical Printing Technology research group took part in the International Conference on Biofabrication in Warsaw, Poland. Four doctoral students and Prof. Blaeser presented the group's latest research findings and engaged in professional exchanges with colleagues from around the world. Lectures, poster presentations, and discussions gave rise to exciting debates and new perspectives. The conference highlighted the diverse and dynamic nature of developments in the field of biofabrication.

The BMT's conference contributions:

  • Development of a Microgravity Simulating Platform for 3D-Bioprinting Applications (David Sipos, Nils Lindner, Philip Gransow, Andreas Blaeser)
  • Towards Clinical Translation: Treatment of Volumetric Muscle Loss with Mechanically Reinforced Engineered Tissues (Eva Schätzlein, Sebastian Scholpp, Lisa Zerhusen, Oliver Weeger, Andreas Blaeser)
  • 3D-Melt-Spin-Bioprinting – A Soft Tissue Engineering Platform Combining Structural Control with hMSC Trilineage Differentiation (Sebastian Scholpp, Jamina Gerhardus, Nils Köhler, Philipp Sauerbrei, Moritz Vierling, Eva Schätzlein and Andreas Blaeser)
  • Development and Characterization of Alginate-Based Bioinks incorporating Nicotiana tabacum Cells for Bioprinting (Kira Schnellbächer, Adrian Rehn, Robin Maatz and Andreas Blaeser)
  • Investigation of (3D) bioprinting processes for high-scale bioproduction and customized additive manufacturing of engineered living materials (Andreas Blaeser)
  • Merging on-demand single cell dispensing with camera controlled DoD-bioprinting enables time and resource efficient cross-scale 3D-biofabricatoin (Andreas Blaeser)
  • Growth-niche inspired biofabrication by spatio-temporal scaffold modulation using dual sacrificial material casting (Poster: Jamina Gerhardus, Theresa Schmid, Florian Beck, Andreas Blaeser)
