Tutorial 3D bioprinting technology and its applications

Course content:

After a brief theoretical introduction, the students will learn how to use 3D bioprinting systems and how to run the bioprinting process chain in practice and perform prints under supervision. This includes the following steps:

  • Creation of 3D datasets using CAD programs,
  • Slicing 3D data sets in STL format for different printing modalities (drop-based, microextrusion, FFF),
  • Setting of printing parameters (working and discard positions, offsets, printing speed, pneumatic pressure, temperature, gating time, etc.),
  • Application of different 3D bioprinting modalities and 3D bioprinting strategies.

Literature:

Recommendations for literature will be announced in the introductory lecture as well as during the tutorial.

Prerequisites:

Participation in the lecture or exam “Biofabrication and 3D-Bioprinting Technology”.

Registration:

The registration modalities will be announced in the first week of lectures in the lecture, or for former participants of the course via a system message. A simple registration in TUCaN does not count as registration.
