Digitized development of 3D printed embossing tools
Together with our partners Schoder GmbH from Langen and Boos & Schulz Designagentur GbR from Ginsheim, IDD is developing an innovative digitalized process chain for the production of embossing tools. The project is supported by the Central Innovation Programme for Medium-Sized Businesses (ZIM). The goal is a completely digital development of the production tools of embossed products. For this purpose the product is visualized and adapted by Augmented Reality before the additive production of the embossing tools. The digital design is directly transferred into an embossing tool and transferred into the production by means of 3D printing processes. This minimizes the time to the finished embossing process. The IDD contributes its expertise in print data preparation and process knowledge for 3D printing processes.
