The BMT team presented two exciting talks at this year's DLR Annual Meeting for Gravitational Biology in Erlangen from March 13-15, 2013.

David Sipos presented his research under the title “MicroG-3D-Bioprinting – Investigating a microgravity simulating platform on earth”, funded by the BMWK.

Eva Schätzlein and David Sipos also presented a proposal for cell box experiments entitled “Biofabrication of bone tissue replacement in microgravity by mechanical stimulation”. Cellbox missions involve embedding biological cells, tissue, or small organisms in special experimental chambers, which are then taken to the International Space Station for several weeks. The chambers are then brought back to Earth to study the effects of long-term exposure to microgravity and radiation.
