Research
Mohammad's research focuses on the interface between materials science, electrochemistry, and biosensing. He develops next-generation diagnostic and analytical technologies by combining novel nanomaterials with printing and microfluidic technologies. The devices he develops translate specific biological or chemical interactions into fast, reliable, and quantifiable signals. This is the basic principle behind technologies such as glucose meters and rapid diagnostic tests. He applies the same approach to pharmaceutical analysis, environmental monitoring, and energy-relevant catalysis.
Mohammad's goal is not only to develop new technologies but also to make them useful in practice. He uses engineering principles to turn laboratory ideas into functional and affordable devices. Making sensing and biosensing technologies accessible, while maintaining good performance, is an important part of his work. His research therefore bridges academic innovation with practical and industrial applications in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, materials, and energy.
Main research focuses:
Development of nanomaterials and catalysts for electrochemical applications
Electrochemical sensors and biosensors
Microfluidic and paper-based analytical devices
Wearable and self-powered sensing systems
Printable electrochemical devices
