My research is focused in the development of bioprinted brain and liver tissue models as part of the LOEWE Flow for Life Project. In this project we aim to fabricate a vascularized organ model in centimeter scale, a great milestone in tissue engineering development.
Me research is focused in finding the optimal conditions where cells can thrive and imitate their in vivo functions using engineering methods together with biological knowledge. To this broad goal belong the design and characterization of novel biomaterials, study of the cell-biomaterial interactions and the development of new bioprinting technologies. I work in a very interdisciplinary team, with contact with more project partners within the TU Darmstadt.
