2024/02/22

This year's kickoff for Team TUcanSense, which is once again competing in the SensUs competition, took place earlier this month. This year's task is to develop a biosensor that continuously detects creatinine. The aim is to be able to diagnose patients with acute kidney failure at an early stage in order to prevent secondary diseases. This year's team consists of 15 students studying medical engineering, mechatronics, molecular biotechnology, energy science, mechanical engineering, chemistry and synthetic biology.

As part of the kick-off, the IDD and Prof. Kolmar's working group were able to give an insight into their research and the possibilities of supporting the students. This year's sponsors Dynamic Biosensors and iocto GmbH also introduced themselves, and Hoffmann + Krippner will also be providing support again but were unfortunately unable to attend. In addition, the innovation and start-up center HIGHEST, which has already supported the TUcanSense teams in the past with the conception of the business plan, introduced itself. The TUcanSense 2024 team is already very grateful for the wide-ranging support from industry and the university. The evening was rounded off with a small get-together with drinks and snacks.
