Team TUcanSense 2024 competition year successfully completed

Over the last nine months, the TUcanSense 2024 team has developed a continuous biosensor for the detection of creatinine in kidney failure as part of the international student competition SensUs. The competition year is now coming to an end and the students can look back on some remarkable achievements. At the final event in Eindhoven at the end of August, the students were delighted to receive second prize in the “Public Inspiration” category. Now the students have received the special science prize from the Thomas Weiland Foundation as part of the TU ideas competition.
The team would like to thank all supporters and sponsors who supported them during the competition year with expertise, laboratory space, teamwear and exchange opportunities. Supporters of the students from TU Darmstadt were Prof Harald Kolmar and Prof Katja Schmitz from the Department of Chemistry, Prof Heinz Köppl, Prof Thomas Burg and Prof Hoog Antink from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Prof Beatrix Süß from the Department of Biology and Prof Andreas Blaeser and Prof Edgar Dörsam from the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The students would also like to thank the staff of the respective departments.
